After travelling around the world looking for food inspiration, Rupert touched down in Mexico City, the centre of Mexican street food. Delving deep into the fantastic world of Mexican food and attempting to try everything it was clear that the Smoking Jalapeno was imminent, and he decided to bring the the colours and vibrancy of Mexican street food to the South West. Ruperts Passion for food started early with his first job in a greasy spoon aged 13 which soon led to climbing the ranks at Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant, under a French head chef, and developing further as he worked from Kitchen to kitchen, having long breaks to travel through different parts of the world constantly exploring different cuisines. The Smoking Jalapeno takes that backbone of traditional French techniques combines it with a body of loud and exciting Mexican flavours and textures resulting in a food experience which is on a whole other level.
